February 14: Idaho Steelheads 3, Utah Grizzlies 2

Late-game heroics light up the night! With the Steelheads trailing 2-1 heading into the final frame, the urgency was building. Then—momentum shifted. Connor MacEachern delivered the game-tying goal with under seven minutes left, electrifying the team and the crowd. But Idaho wasn’t finished. With just 62 seconds remaining, Patrick Moynihan buried the game-winner, sealing a thrilling comeback victory. Utah made a final push, but Bryan Thomson stood tall in net, making a crucial last-second save to secure the win.

February 15: Idaho Steelheads 5, Utah Grizzlies 6 (OT)

High-scoring chaos leads to heartbreak in overtime! This one had everything—blazing-fast goals, back-and-forth lead changes, and an OT finish that had fans on the edge of their seats. Wade Murphy struck first, scoring just 16 seconds into the game. But Utah responded, and the teams traded the lead multiple times throughout the night. Late in the third, Ty Pelton-Byce came through clutch, tying the game and forcing overtime. However, Utah’s Derek Daschke found the net in OT, handing Idaho a tough loss. A hard-fought battle, but the Steelheads showed resilience heading into the playoff push.

Idaho Steelheads Playoff Race: Where They Stand Now

With a 24-16-7-1 record (56 points), the Steelheads are 5th in the Mountain Division, just two points behind the 4th-place Wichita Thunder. With the season winding down, every point is crucial in the playoff race.
